Actors Who Played Well Outside Their Age Range

From 30-year-old “college kids” to moms younger than their on-screen kids, Hollywood never gets age right. Here are the wildest examples!

Actors often play characters older or younger than they actually are.  Here are 10 examples:

1.  Cynthia ErivoAriana Grande, and Jonathan Bailey play first-year college students in “Wicked”, but they’re all in their 30s.

2.  Florence Pugh was 23 when she made “Little Women”, but her character hadn’t even hit puberty yet.  She was 13.

3.  Angelina Jolie played Colin Farrell’smother in “Alexander”, but she’s only a year older than him in real life.

4.  Laurence Fishburne was only 14 when he played a soldier in the Vietnam War in “Apocalypse Now”.

5.  In “The Amazing Spider-Man 2”, Peter Parker graduated from high school, making him about 18.  But Andrew Garfield was 31.

6.  In “Orange Is the New Black”Elizabeth Rodriguez played Dascha Polanco’s mother.  But Elizabeth is only two years older than Dascha.

7.  In “Hanna Montana”Jason Earles played Miley Cyrus’ older brother.  When the show started, the character was 16 . . . but Jason was 29.

8.  Cher played Meryl Streep’s mother in “Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again”.  But Cher is only three years older than Meryl in real life.

9.  On “The Golden Girls”Estelle Getty played Bea Arthur’s mother.  But in real life, Bea was a year OLDER.  Betty Whitewas older than Estelle, too.

10.  None of the “kids” in “Grease” were actually kids.  John Travolta was 24, Olivia Newton-John was 29, and Stockard Channing, who played Rizzo, was 34.  (!!!)

Scott and Sadie

Meet Scott and Sadie: the anti-heroes of morning radio turned podcast renegades. Scott’s 40 years in broadcasting have left him fluent in snark, while Sadie’s nepotistic origins (thanks, Mom!) brought the unfiltered charm that made them a Northern Colorado favorite. After corporate radio ghosted them harder than a bad Tinder date, the duo ditched FCC babysitters and went full rogue. Now, they’re back with a podcast that’s equal parts wit, sarcasm, and a big middle finger to mediocrity. Loyal fans, curious newcomers, or algorithm strays—welcome to the chaos.
