Walmart’s Lockdown: Meat Edition

Walmart is now locking up steak to prevent theft—because nothing says “grocery run” like a meat cage and a security escort.

Just when it seemed like stores might be shying away from locking everything up . . . because people were buying less . . . Walmart is locking up GROCERIES.  And no, not eggs.  Yet.

There are videos online of people in a Walmart freaking out because there are anti-theft locks on the meat.  They’re not in a locked case, they’re in tiny wire cages that apparently need to be unlocked at the register.

In one video, someone says, “That’s when you know it’s bad, when they put miniature gates so you don’t steal their meats?”

In another video, someone else says, “You’ve gotta be kidding me.  Walmart now has the steak locked up.  It’s come to this.  This is getting bad now, man.”

You might have seen this before.  Some locations have been doing it for a few years.  But since it isn’t happening everywhere, it sounds like it might be a thing in high-crime areas.  Walmart hasn’t commented on the latest reports.

Here’s another previous video, and another.

Meet Scott and Sadie: the anti-heroes of morning radio turned podcast renegades. Scott’s 40 years in broadcasting have left him fluent in snark, while Sadie’s nepotistic origins (thanks, Mom!) brought the unfiltered charm that made them a Northern Colorado favorite. After corporate radio ghosted them harder than a bad Tinder date, the duo ditched FCC babysitters and went full rogue. Now, they’re back with a podcast that’s equal parts wit, sarcasm, and a big middle finger to mediocrity. Loyal fans, curious newcomers, or algorithm strays—welcome to the chaos.
