Snarkless: TikTok Donated Over $300,000 to Help an 81-Year-Old Waitress Retire

An 81-year-old waitress can finally retire, a heroic rescue saves a child, and a lost lottery ticket wins big—Snarkless stories you need!

Snarkless – Because even we need a break from the madness. Once a day, we swallow our sarcasm (it burns, honestly) and deliver three legitimately good news stories—no cynicism, no side-eye, just pure, unfiltered positivity. It’s weird for us too, but hey, even the apocalypse deserves a little sunshine.

Here are a few more Snarkless stories making the rounds . . .

1.  An 81-year-old waitress in Pittsburgh can finally retire thanks to a video posted by a random customer last week.

Tamie Koznier took her young son to an Eat’n Park for lunch last Thursday, and heard the waitress tell someone she couldn’t afford to retire yet.

Tamie posted a clip and said, “If I can make any video go viral, I hope it’s this one.”  Then she ended with, “Okay, TikTok.  Do your thing,” and people delivered.  Here’s the video.

Hoping we can help this sweet lady retire! I think Jen Hamilton could help me do it but I can’t tag her! #viralvideo #fyp #jenhamilton

She shared a GoFundMe link, and last we checked . . . people had donated well over $300,000.  (!!!)  She called the waitress to tell her after it hit 100 grand in a single day.  Here’s that video.

Replying to @heyobobby Betty knows! This was earlier today and now we are at almost 200k!

2.  A 61-year-old guy named Ed Rohmer was out walking his dog in Upstate New York last Thursday when he saw a seven-year-old boy fall in a river.  It was freezing cold, and the kid couldn’t swim.

He called 911, then tried to pull the kid out but couldn’t reach him.  A cop eventually got there, and they worked together.  Ed held his legs while the officer reached down and grabbed the kid.  He got checked out at the hospital, but he was okay.

3.  A guy in England found an old lottery ticket in his car that hit for $1.3 MILLION.  It was so crumpled it wouldn’t scan, but you could still see the numbers.  He told lottery officials he didn’t even have his car locked.

Scott’s 40 years in broadcasting have left him fluent in snark, while Sadie’s nepotistic origins (thanks, Mom!) brought the unfiltered charm that made them a Northern Colorado favorite. After corporate radio ghosted them harder than a bad Tinder date, the duo ditched FCC babysitters and went full rogue. Now, they’re back with a podcast that’s equal parts wit, sarcasm, and a big middle finger to mediocrity. Loyal fans, curious newcomers, or algorithm strays—welcome to the chaos.
