Snarkless – Because even we need a break from the madness. Once a day, we swallow our sarcasm (it burns, honestly) and deliver three legitimately good news stories—no cynicism, no side-eye, just pure, unfiltered positivity. It’s weird for us too, but hey, even the apocalypse deserves a little sunshine.
Here are a few more Snarkless stories making the rounds . . .
1. An eighth-grader in Massachusetts named Sarah Wang invented a new device that detects seizures. Her grandmother has epilepsy, and Sarah found out similar devices don’t work well, or cost a lot of money.
She created a glove called Hand Band that’s more affordable, and just showed it off at the National STEM Festival in D.C. They named her a National STEM Champion. Now she’s looking at getting it patented.
2. The FBI gave its “Exceptional Service” award to three middle school girls near Seattle, who stopped a kid from being abducted last year. They saw a guy grab a six-year-old girl outside his apartment complex and stopped him. He pled guilty to “attempted luring” in December.
3. Two childhood friends in England reunited almost 90 years later. Jim Dougal and Betty Davidson are both 96. They lived across the street when they were eight and used to walk to school together.
Jim’s son recently found an old class photo from 1936 and wanted to see if he could track down any of his classmates. Most are no longer with us, but Betty only lived 70 miles away. She described Jim as her “childhood sweetheart.” Here’s a photo.
