Teachers: One of America’s Toughest Jobs

Teachers ranked among America’s toughest jobs—beating pilots and lawyers. Firefighters topped the list, but let’s face it: astronauts have it easier. 🍎🚀

Happy Teacher Appreciation WEEK.  Here’s some proof they DESERVE a full week.

Someone asked 2,000 people what the “toughest” job in America is.  Half the folks polled were trade workers, like plumbers and electricians, so those were the types of jobs the poll had in mind.  But teacher still made the Top 20.

The Top 10 all involve at least two of these four things:  They’re physically demanding . . . have long hours . . . involve high-stakes decisions . . . or there’s an element of danger.

Do YOU have one of the toughest jobs in America?  According to the votes, here are the Top 10 . . .

1.  Firefighter

2.  Construction worker

3.  Member of the military

4.  Doctor

5.  Cop

6.  Paramedic

7.  Astronaut

8.  Farmer

9.  Air traffic controller

10.  Oil worker

Teacher tied for 16th place, but let’s be honest . . . “astronaut” is easier.

The rest of the Top 20 toughest jobs are nurse . . . roofer . . . electrician . . . home builder . . . engineer . . . teacher . . . pilot . . . lawyer . . . woodworker . . . and installing drywall.

Worth noting:  Characters from The Village People dominated the top five.  Their original line-up had a construction worker, a cop, and a member of the military.  Cowboy, Native American, and gay mustachioed biker didn’t make the list.

Scott’s 40 years in broadcasting have left him fluent in snark, while Sadie’s nepotistic origins (thanks, Mom!) brought the unfiltered charm that made them a Northern Colorado favorite. After corporate radio ghosted them harder than a bad Tinder date, the duo ditched FCC babysitters and went full rogue. Now, they’re back with a podcast that’s equal parts wit, sarcasm, and a big middle finger to mediocrity. Loyal fans, curious newcomers, or algorithm strays—welcome to the chaos.
