If intermittent fasting feels too extreme, a new study found that just skipping carbs for one day a week might help you lose weight and burn more fat.

Fasting works by forcing your body to tap into stored fat.  And the study found that going carb-free for a full day . . . no bread, no pasta . . . may have a similar effect, even if you eat the same number of calories.

Our bodies burn carbs first, since they’re easier to digest.  But when you eat them constantly, your body leans on them for energy instead of burning fat.

Giving your system a carb-free day breaks that cycle.  Even one day a week helped.  And doing it more often, like every few days, might be even better.
