Have you ever lost something expensive, after accidentally dropping it overboard while on a boat? Well, the U.S. Navy can totally relate.
The American government just admitted that the U.S. Navy “lost” a very, very expensive jet . . . after it slipped off a moving aircraft carrier last week. And get this: The jet was worth $60 MILLION to $70 MILLION. (!!!)
The Navy says it was an “F/A-18 Super Hornet fighter jet,” which “rolled off” the USS Harry S. Truman after the ship reportedly came under fire from Houthi rebels from Yemen.
The carrier was deployed there . . . mostly just to deter the fighters. But that apparently didn’t work, because they started firing, and the ship made a “hard turn to evade fire” . . . and that’s when the fighter jet fell overboard, and promptly sank to the bottom of the Red Sea.
One sailor suffered minor injuries as a result of the incident . . . but thankfully there were no other injuries.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth hasn’t commented. But the Navy is investigating.
For $60 million, you’d think there’d be a PARKING BRAKE.
