Will Smith Was Asked About His Oscar Ban… Here’s What He Said

Will Smith opens up about the Oscars slap fallout and his upcoming album—his most personal project yet, dropping this Friday.

Will Smith is just three years into his 10-year ban from the Oscars for slapping Chris Rock

And in a new interview with the Associated Press, he was asked how he feels about it, and whether or not he plans to appeal it.

He just said he’s, quote, “looking to be the best human I can possibly be, and I’m gonna take what I get with that.”

Will also discussed his new album, “Based on a True Story” . . . which comes out on Friday.

He said, quote, “I’ve taken the last couple of years to really do a deep dive on the parts of me that may or may not been in that level of certainty and asking those deep scary internal questions.

“It really is the result of my initial self-examination.  Every song is about some part of myself that I discovered or wanted to explore, something I wanted to share.  It’s the most full musical offering that I’ve ever created.”  (Yahoo)

Meet Scott and Sadie: the anti-heroes of morning radio turned podcast renegades. Scott’s 40 years in broadcasting have left him fluent in snark, while Sadie’s nepotistic origins (thanks, Mom!) brought the unfiltered charm that made them a Northern Colorado favorite. After corporate radio ghosted them harder than a bad Tinder date, the duo ditched FCC babysitters and went full rogue. Now, they’re back with a podcast that’s equal parts wit, sarcasm, and a big middle finger to mediocrity. Loyal fans, curious newcomers, or algorithm strays—welcome to the chaos.
