This Just In: We’re Only Working Out to Look Better, Not to Be Healthier

Most people hit the gym for one reason—looking good! 💪 But what actually keeps them going? Here’s the secret to staying motivated.

There are a lot of reasons why people DON’T go to the gym . . . it’s expensive, it’s not fun, they don’t have the time, and so on.  But there’s one main reason to go:  To get SIX-PACK ABS.

New research looked into people’s motivations for exercising, and the #1 reason people work out is:  To improve their physical appearance.  Roughly 24% of people do it for that.

19% are hoping to improve their physical health . . . and 17% are trying to boost their mental health.

Those are the nudges to get started, but you need more than just a strong desire to look fit to stick with it.

The top strategies to keep it going are:  Forming a habit . . . setting goals . . . finding activities you enjoy doing . . . adding a social component . . . using media like music or videos . . . having apps to track your progress . . . and making a financial commitment.

Meet Scott and Sadie: the anti-heroes of morning radio turned podcast renegades. Scott’s 40 years in broadcasting have left him fluent in snark, while Sadie’s nepotistic origins (thanks, Mom!) brought the unfiltered charm that made them a Northern Colorado favorite. After corporate radio ghosted them harder than a bad Tinder date, the duo ditched FCC babysitters and went full rogue. Now, they’re back with a podcast that’s equal parts wit, sarcasm, and a big middle finger to mediocrity. Loyal fans, curious newcomers, or algorithm strays—welcome to the chaos.
