We are well known for our snark. Trust us, it’s our super power. But occasionally, we let the guard down on our hardened hearts and go “Snarkless” by sharing good news stories from around the web.
1. An 82-year-old woman in L.A. just got her cat back two months after it went missing during the wildfires in January. She lost her home in the Palisades Fire, and thought her cat didn’t make it. An animal control officer found it wandering around her street last Friday, exactly two months after the fire started.
The cat’s name is Aggie. She was skin-and-bones and needed a few blood transfusions, but she’ll be okay. She was set to leave the vet sometime today. Here’s a video of the reunion.
2. A 27-year-old woman in Miami recently showed up at an animal shelter and asked for the oldest dog they had. The 12-year-old pup’s name is Jackie. She looks like a lab, or some kind of mix. She’d been there three months.
The woman shared a video of her to encourage more people to adopt senior pets. She’s got two other dogs, and they all get along great. Here’s the video.
3. The 34th Annual Firefighter Stairclimb was a big success again. Thousands of firefighters from around the world showed up in Seattle on Sunday to climb 69 flights of stairs in full gear . . . 1,356 steps, and almost 800 vertical feet.
They do it to raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The event has raised over $28 MILLION since 1991.
