March Madness Brackets: Do You Pick Teams by Vibes or Actual Strategy?

March Madness is here! 🏀 But let’s be real—most of us are picking teams based on vibes and mascots, not actual knowledge.

March Madness is underway.  Did you fill out your bracket?

Around one in six Americans planned to this year . . . and it’s a lot easier when you know NOTHING about basketball.  (???)  A poll found our top strategies for filling out brackets include “hunches,” “vibes,” and whatever our friends think.

18% of Americans think they follow basketball closely enough to make good picks, and another 16% have “limited knowledge.”  So together, that’s a third.

Everyone else is just winging it:  23% said their top strategy is asking friends or family for help . . . 14% choose winners based on “hunches” . . . and 22% said just whatever “vibes” they’re feeling.  (Like, “Ooh, I like their colors.”)

Around one in 10 said they sometimes make picks based on the team’s mascot.

(NY Post

31% of Americans said they’ll follow the tournament this year.  14% will mainly follow the men’s games . . . 3% only care about the women’s tournament . . . and 14% will follow both.

Meet Scott and Sadie: the anti-heroes of morning radio turned podcast renegades. Scott’s 40 years in broadcasting have left him fluent in snark, while Sadie’s nepotistic origins (thanks, Mom!) brought the unfiltered charm that made them a Northern Colorado favorite. After corporate radio ghosted them harder than a bad Tinder date, the duo ditched FCC babysitters and went full rogue. Now, they’re back with a podcast that’s equal parts wit, sarcasm, and a big middle finger to mediocrity. Loyal fans, curious newcomers, or algorithm strays—welcome to the chaos.
