Is a Selfie Lock Screen a Dating Red Flag?

Would you date someone with a solo selfie as their lock screen? 68% of people say it’s weird. Red flag or just practical?

Let’s say you’re on a first date, and the other person puts their phone down and their LOCK SCREEN is showing.

Most people just have a basic screen that comes with their phone, but others customize it with a photo of their pet . . . a family member or friend . . . a pic from a vacation . . . or a child.  (If this is a first date, the child will probably be addressed at some point . . . hopefully.)

But what if the person just has a photo of THEMSELVES on their lock screen?

A poll asked if having a selfie as your lock screen was “weird” . . . and 32% said “no” it’s totally cool.  The other 68% said “yes,” it’s bizarre.

Most people are clarifying that it’s weird if it’s JUST YOU alone.  But someone else said, “It’s a smart way to prove that it’s your phone if it’s ever lost.”

Meet Scott and Sadie: the anti-heroes of morning radio turned podcast renegades. Scott’s 40 years in broadcasting have left him fluent in snark, while Sadie’s nepotistic origins (thanks, Mom!) brought the unfiltered charm that made them a Northern Colorado favorite. After corporate radio ghosted them harder than a bad Tinder date, the duo ditched FCC babysitters and went full rogue. Now, they’re back with a podcast that’s equal parts wit, sarcasm, and a big middle finger to mediocrity. Loyal fans, curious newcomers, or algorithm strays—welcome to the chaos.
