Guinness for St. Patrick’s Day? A New Map of the Most Popular Beer in Every State

What’s your state’s favorite beer? 🍺 A new report ranks the most popular brews across the U.S.—and light beers dominate the list.

It’s St. Patrick’s Day, and if you’re celebrating with a pint, you could do something Irish, like Guinness.  Or chicken out . . . and pour yourself something lighter.  Like Michelob Ultra, which is basically spiked water.

A website has put out a map with the most popular beers in every state, and there’s a LOT of love for the lighter stuff.

Miller is #1 in a whopping 29 states, plus Washington, D.C.  It’s popular in the Northwest and Central U.S.

Coors is #1 in eight states, mostly in the Southwest and Appalachian states.

Budweiser is #1 in two states, New Hampshire and Missouri . . . Bud Light is preferred in two states, Ohio and North Carolina . . . Busch is the top choice in Illinois and Indiana . . . Heineken has two states:  New York and Florida . . .

Blue Moon is the top pick in Colorado . . . Corona is the preferred option in Connecticut . . . and three states went with Guinness:  Georgia, South Carolina, and New Jersey.

Those states are clearly ready for St. Patrick’s Day.

To come up with the list, they used Google Trends data, along with online “popularity ratings.”  They did NOT use sales data or consumption metrics . . . so it’s possible that people drink differently than their online behavior suggests.

Meet Scott and Sadie: the anti-heroes of morning radio turned podcast renegades. Scott’s 40 years in broadcasting have left him fluent in snark, while Sadie’s nepotistic origins (thanks, Mom!) brought the unfiltered charm that made them a Northern Colorado favorite. After corporate radio ghosted them harder than a bad Tinder date, the duo ditched FCC babysitters and went full rogue. Now, they’re back with a podcast that’s equal parts wit, sarcasm, and a big middle finger to mediocrity. Loyal fans, curious newcomers, or algorithm strays—welcome to the chaos.
