Google Trends looked at the top green food each state googled more than other states this year. Some are specific to St. Patrick’s Day, and some are just green foods you might eat any time of year.
1. Lots of green drinks: Green mimosas in Nebraska and West Virginia . . . green Jell-O shots in Georgia, Virginia, and Kentucky . . . Irish margaritas in Texas . . . grasshopper cocktails in New Mexico . . . green whiskey sours in Wyoming . . .
. . . green lemonade in Kansas (lame) . . . green smoothies in South Dakota (lamer) . . . Shamrock Shakes in Illinois, Montana, and Hawaii . . . and two more states are adding BOOZE to theirs: Shamrock Shake Cocktail in Mississippi, and Irish Whiskey Shamrock Shake in Louisiana.
2. Desserts: Things like shamrock cookies, shamrock cakes, and grasshopper pies are top searches in multiple states . . . mint brownies are big in the Midwest . . . green sprinkles are a top search in New York . . . and Vermont and Alaska might just love key lime pie in general.
3. Savory dishes: Green spaghetti in Arizona . . . pesto in Oregon, Nevada, and Missouri . . . pea soup in Maine . . . green eggs in Indiana . . . green deviled eggs in New Jersey . . . and California is going full Dr. Seuss with green eggs and ham.
