Country Singer Was Bumped for Paul McCartney, But He’s Okay with It

Country singer Max McNown got bumped from his sold-out New York City debut—because Paul McCartney wanted the venue! Luckily, he found a bigger space. Would you be mad or honored?

Well, that’s a little awkward.  Imagine you’re country singer Max McNown, and you’re about to make your headlining debut in front of two sold-out crowds at New York City’s Bowery Ballroom.

Now imagine getting the call that you were getting BUMPED, and you needed to find a new venue.  Max’s first response was, “I’m sorry, you want us to do what?”

But since the situation was so odd, they knew something bigger was going on behind the scenes.  And it turns out the reason Max got moved was because Paul McCartney wanted to play there instead.

And you can’t say no to a member of The Beatles.  That’s probably a law, right?

Luckily everything worked out in the end, though.  Paul got the more intimate 575-seat space at the Bowery that he wanted, and Max got moved to Irving Plaza in Union Square, which holds 1,200 people.  So Max got to sell more tickets, which is a win-win for everyone.

But Max did have one regret about the situation.  He said, “I am disappointed we weren’t able to get [Paul] to open for us.”

Brave lad, indeed.

Meet Scott and Sadie: the anti-heroes of morning radio turned podcast renegades. Scott’s 40 years in broadcasting have left him fluent in snark, while Sadie’s nepotistic origins (thanks, Mom!) brought the unfiltered charm that made them a Northern Colorado favorite. After corporate radio ghosted them harder than a bad Tinder date, the duo ditched FCC babysitters and went full rogue. Now, they’re back with a podcast that’s equal parts wit, sarcasm, and a big middle finger to mediocrity. Loyal fans, curious newcomers, or algorithm strays—welcome to the chaos.
